User Interface: House –– Front Openings

The house was built with a barnlike post-and-beam construction, so window openings had to contend with the knee-braces (cross bracing) constraining placement. This is the southern side of the house, where capturing solar heat in the concrete slab floor was most important. The solar heat works so well that the owners only have to heat their house a few times a year.
